Part Two of Pursuit

"Great, leave me in a car all by myself, thanks for your protection….ugh..." Maria huffed to herself as she looked around the car. And pressed the button on top of the ceiling of the car to spread light, searching around the car she managed to find some glue, a handle to a screw driver and a nail to the screw driver. Using the super glue she glued the screw onto the screw driver and used it to pick lock the door. She stepped out and saw she was in an alley way and there was a small store across from her. There sat a crocodile and his cat, she marched up to them.

"Hello! My name is Vector and this is my cat, Blaze." Vector motioned to his cat. Blaze meowed. Vector continued. "Welcome to my shop, how may I help you?" He asked.

"Did you see some one pass by here?" Maria asked the shop owner.

"Yes I saw a young man pass by here not to long ago, he descended into the sewers, I wonder why." Vector said then Blaze interrupted him with a loud meow. "Blaze my cat seems to be getting hungry; do you think you could find the fish down in the sewer? There is a special tank in there for fish, I saw some men take it down there a few days ago, I wonder what for. Too bad I have not a fishing net or I would have gone down there myself and fished. I wonder if they are making an underground aquarium down there." He rambled on/

"Thanks for your help." Maria said gratefully.

"If you can get my cat something to eat I will give you my blow torch, free of no charge…" Vector told her.

"Thanks." Maria said and then walked over to the man hole and descended into the sewers.


She walked through a dark lit tunnel, and came to the other side and figured out that the lightning was screwy. She had seen a light switch on the other side of the tunnel but it was too rusty and she couldn't move it. Then her foot came down on something. "Shadow's keys!" She gasped and bent down and picked them up. "Shadow must be close by!" So she continued onto the next tunnel. But found it was only a room and to her left was a barred off area and then she saw the fish tank in front of her. "Why would they keep fish here?" She thought wonderingly. She shook her head and as she moved towards the bars she kicked something hard. "Ow what the?" She picked it up and saw it was a container of oil. "Ah!" She said and exited the room and went back to the poorly lit tunnel. She walked to the light switch and then poured the oil ontop of Growly's head. "Sorry growly….you are gonna be my rag." She apologized to her stuffed teddy bear and rubbed the oil on the rusty handle and used her knife to pull it down. She was in no way touching that rusty light switch it could carry germs on it and she couldn't afford to get sick now not while she was searching for Shadow/. With a sigh she turned back and went down the newly light tunnel and then saw part of the concrete wall that was dented and crumbling. "This wall has seen better days. I bet I can chip away at it with my knife. It looks weak enough." She took her knife out and began hacking away and it grumbled the peered in and saw the back of a human skull. "Oh dear!" She jumped slightly. But then she saw a rope, the human apparently had been hanged and died there and rotted into a skeleton and then she looked at her knife, the glue she had, and her banana. "Ah!" She used the knife and cut the top of the rope and bottom of it until she had a good sized rope. She then glued the banana onto the rope. She then shoved her knife through it making a make shift fishing pole. She then walked back into the room with the bars and then placed the make shift fishing pole. She caught a single fish and then made her way out of the sewer and gave the fish to Blaze and the owner of the shop like promised gave her a flame thrower. She thanked him and took Shadow's keys and unlocked the trunk of Shadow's car and took the gasoline out and filled the flame thrower with it. She had remembered Shadow mentioning it before, Shadow always kept a spare tank of gasoline in his car in case he was too far from a gas station. She then went back down to the sewers and went to the barred room and used the flame thrower to melt some of the bars away. She then walked through the opening and then to her horror she stopped and looked upon a heart breaking seen. Shadow was sitting and his back was leaning up against a wall he had a bullet wound in his stomach and a pool of blood was spilling around him.

"Shadow!"
