Chapter 8 Looking for Your Hand in the Rough

Everything seemed to freeze, Mephiles killed Sonic, and so that means Shadow hadn't killed Sonic. It meant Shadow wasn't a murderer.

But now Shadow was angry, Mephiles had killed Sonic! And cause him pain! Shadow let out a growl and then with a flash he jumped up and knocked Mephiles down and took out the shot gun he had carried with him in case of an emergency, he shot Mephiles until he ran out of rounds and slumped back onto the ground, on his back one hand on his chest, the wound he had on there had reopened and now his blood was all over the sand and the ocean water had turned red. Shadow closed his eyes and tried to conserve his energy.

Just then Mephiles got up and the bullet wounds healed, "Hah you thought you'd kill me with a shot gun pitiful……" He said laughing, "You're a fool Shadow the hedgehog……I'm your other half the one who wanted revenge your dark side you cannot and will not ever kill me because that would be a form of suicide. For I am as much of a part of you as you are as you are apart of me but you see you need me but I don't need you, you are my weaker side, the one who shows weakness by showing emotions." Mephiles laughed gloating.


"……" Shadow was too shocked to say anything.

' He needs you…you must go..'

'I know….'

"Time to rip out your heart----" Mephiles said reaching for shadow's chest when the wind started to blow fiercely. "WHAT IN THE DEVIL'S SWEET DARKNESS IS-------" Mephiles began.



"ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WAIT STOP! HAVE MERCY!"

"DID YOU HAVE MERCY ON SHADOW?!?!!? DID YOU HAVE MERCY ON THE WORLD?!?!?! DID YOU?!?!!?"

"N-NO PLEEAAASSEEE SPARE ME!"

"DID YOU SPARE THE WORLD?!?!? WERE YOU GONNA SPARE SHADOW?!?!?!"

All Shadow could tell was some one was kicking Mephiles's buttox and wasn't having mercy on him, but Shadow was on the verge of death so he could even lift his head to see who it was.

"PLEASE NO NO ACK!!!! NO NOT THE FACE NOT THE FACE!!!!!"

" YES YES THE FACE!"

"NOOOO!!!!"

" JUST KEEP SMILING MEPHILES! JUST KEEP SMILING!"

Then all was quiet a gentle breeze blew through the night. Soft foot steps reached Shadow's ears. Shadow opened his eyes, but he could hardly see anything. He didn't know who saved him, because his body was shutting down on him. "W-Who…" He began.

"Hush don't talk…just rest….."

Shadow closed his eyes and then he felt some one's hand touch his chest, he felt warm then suddenly he felt filled with energy again, he felt filled with life and he no longer had to struggle to breathe. But yet the warm feeling, made him drowsy and tired.

Soon Shadow woke he was in a dark room, it was dimly lit with candles. Some one's arms were wrapped around him it was a guy who had saved him judging by his voice. But his touch it was comforting…. it was an almost familiar touch…. some how where had he felt this before? Shadow tried to remember and it faintly came back to him, this feeling……..it was like before….before on the ark when he was about to fall asleep some one had embraced him…..and that time when he was on the ark about to die after the commander beat him almost to death…..but he had felt it before all this even but he couldn't remember where. He snuggled closer to who ever was holding him, his savoir was warm and his blue fur was soft….wait…BLUE FUR?!?!?! Shadow gasped and looked up at the face of his savoir and then crimson red eyes met worried emerald green eyes.
